C-Gen (Creative Generation) Article
by Stephanie and Stella
Some of the girls in 6A (Jaimee, Neve, Ella N, Alyssa and the two of us) did C-Gen. If you don’t know what C-Gen is, it is State Schools that are on stage singing, dancing and playing musical instruments (band). C-Gen was held at the Brisbane Convention Exposition Centre (or BCEC for short.) The event was held over four days from Wednesday 12th July-Saturday 15th July).
On Wednesday, we were there from 9:30am-1:30pm, and we were lucky to find a spot in the junior section. The “Can’t Stop the Feeling” dancers were called to hall 1 to practise for the show. Then we stayed for the finale. On Thursday, we practised on stage, and we were there from 7:45am-5:00pm. On Friday, it was our first performance on the stage in front of schools, and we had to be there from 7:45am-10:30pm, but we got to have a dinner break from 4:15pm-6:00pm. Our second performance on the same day was with parents and kids watching us. On Saturday, we had two performances, one in the morning and one at night, and we had to be there from 11:00am-10:30pm.
It was very emotional when it was our last time on stage for this year. Maybe next year we will be able to do C-Gen 2018 and see other people from previous years.
Mr Richardson's Comment: Well done to all of our talented and creative performers. We are very proud of you. Thank you to Stephanie and Stella for sharing their story with us. Great job, girls!
